Things to Do in Indianapolis & Its’ Surrounding Cities and Towns! Indianapolis and its’ surrounding cities and towns offer a unique blend of experiences. You can learn about the departure from slavery to freedom at Noblesville, Indiana’s Conner Prairie’s ‘Follow the North Star’ interactive program. One may enjoy cultural activities at the Indianapolis Museum of Art and at the many different attractions of White River State Park. Many people, up to 400,000 of us, race to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, in Speedway, Indiana each May to witness the Greatest Spectacle in Racing, the Indianapolis 500.
Museums…
The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis 3000 North Meridian Street, (317) 334-3322 This is by far the greatest children’s museum in the world; it’s a day full of adventure and learning for children of all ages. You can meet a mummy, climb a limestone wall, ride on the world famous carousel and sail through space in SpaceQuest® Planetarium. Also, ‘Dinosphere’: Now You Are in Their World is not to be missed. This museum is fun for all ages.
Conner Prairie 13400 Allisonville Road, Noblesville, Indiana, (317) 776-6006, (800) 966-1836 The Museum Center and indoor exhibits are open year round. At Conner Prairie relive history. Journey back to long ago and experience how life has truly changed. Travel to an Indian camp, pioneer village, Victorian farm, hands-on discovery area, historic houses and gardens. Follow the North Star (April, November), White River Folk Festival (June), Glorious Fourth (July), Headless Horseman – Greg’s personal favorite (October).
Indiana Transportation Museum State Road 19 North in Forest Park, Noblesville, Indiana, (317) 773-6000 The Museum offers train rides most weekends. You can check out the schedule by going on-line. The museum features restored, operating examples of steam, diesel and electric rail transportation from the early to mid twentieth century. During The Indiana State Fair each August, the museum provides rail transportation to and from Fishers Indiana and the Indiana State Fair Grounds, for an additional fair.
Indianapolis Motor Speedway 4790 West 16th Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, (317) 492-6747 The Hall of Fame Museum is one of the world’s largest, most varied collections of racing, classic and antique cars housed here featuring more than 30 Indianapolis 500 winning cars. My personal favorite is the yellow number 1 Belong Special which won the 1958 Indianapolis 500 with driver Jimmy Bryan. The Tony Hulman Theatre presents a great 2-minute film depicting the history of the track and race highlights. Bus tours are available for fans to tour the famed 21/2 mile oval when the track is not in use for race events or testing. The museum is open year round except for Christmas Day.
Indianapolis Museum of Art 4000 Michigan Road, Indianapolis, Indiana, (317) 923-1331 The IMA is among the largest general art museums in the U.S. It is located on 152 acres that take-in the historic Oldsfields estate; as well as, breathtaking gardens and grounds. The IMA features significant collections of African, Asian, European, contemporary and decorative art, including paintings, sculptures, prints, drawings and photographs, textiles and costumes.

First Time Buyers >A Matter of Timing
Buying real estate can sometimes involve tricky timing. For example, you may have found the perfect house and are thinking about making an offer, but are feeling pressured to make a decision just when you want time to consider the matter. The agent tells you that another party is thinking about making an offer, so you shouldn't hesitate if you really want the house. What should you do? Trust your agent!
It is natural to feel some pressure from even the most easy-going real estate agent--and some uncertainty about making an offer. If you really like a house, there is always the possibility that someone else will share your enthusiasm for it. Whether your local market is active or sluggish, it is sensible to assume that another offer is likely to come in. Perhaps you can afford to "sleep on it", but moving as quickly as possible will minimize the possibility that the house will go to another buyer.
